carburettor correction

With reference to the article “PROTES 2008 – Oh Whatta Night” [07/07/08]

and the accompanying photo blog on Picasa.

It was mentioned that Carburettor Dung’s vocalist, Joe Kidd was involved in the “mooning incident”. [click for video]

Carburettor Dung’s singer is actually Alak. Joe Kidd is the guitarist and band leader.

The error is regretted, and amendments have been made.

Not Joe Kidd, but Alak                                Not Alak, Joe Kidd

[still not entirely sure, though … what do you think?]

The band has also issued a statement on their blog entitled: “Alamak!”

and were interviewed in the Malaysian Insider: “Nothing to Apologise…”

The Dungboys also made it into the latest issue of Asia Times:
Different drums for Malaysia’s opposition

Listen to “Mari Nyanyi Menjilat” [if you dare].

    Hi,

Is it Caburettor Dung or “Cow Dung”. Metallica and Aerosmith have done it before. No big deal. ALAK is a fine kampung boy? He was only proud of his underwear and probably would have wanted to show it off to the girls. There is no need to get all so uptight, upset and provoked. Its the ” RIGHTEOUS ” religious fanatics who have these huge problem of ” ACCEPTANCE and TOLERANCE ” in their lives.

UMNO reminds me of the PHARASEES of the old biblical times. Always quick to point fingers at others but never having the courage to admit its own weakness and shortcomings. What can I say. Just leave them alone in their retarded mentality. Ciao.

    Oppression!

“We walked so proud, we walked so free”
    I heard you shout
Do all you want, say all the rage you have inside
    Open your eyes, society
    See what we got
You think you’re free, you think you’re safe
    You know you’re not!

    Oppression!

What do you read, what can you see
    Between their lines?
What can you do, what can you say
    When you’re blind?
Where should we shout, where should we turn
    When we see their faults?
Are we so thick, are we so dumb
    Just like they want?

    Oppression!

We’ll raise our voice (no way!)
We’ll raise our fists (no way!)
Is this your face democracy, conformity?
    We’ll criticise (no way!)
    We’ll organise (no way!)
Where is our voice, democracy, stability?
    What should we see? (nothing!)
    What should we think? (nothing!)
    Where’s our sight, democracy?
    You hide the key!
    You’re blinding me!

    Oppression!
