UPDATES 14/7
According to Warta 1 RTM: 300 policemen were blocking the access road to Parlament … with NO ONE ELSE AROUND! No protestors, rally-ers, dissidents or persons posing a [barisan] national security threat.
And the above figure is not including the many other cops stationed at roadblocks throughout the city, causing major jams. (1,600 cops, according to NST)
What a bloody waste of: time, resources and energy [including the petrol wasted while idling in a police road-blocked jam].
It would be interesting to find out the number of crimes that went un-prevented in KL this morning, while the police were busy making a public nuisance of themselves.
According to Tian Chua’s blog:
“Speaker Rejects No-Confidence Motion … based on the ground of technically” (sic)
Meanwhile, according to Malaysiakini, Anwar defies order to present himself at the police HQ for questioning over the sodomy allegations.
Also: Don’t miss tomorrow’s “GREAT PETROL DEBATE” on TV9 [and not TV3 as advertised] and Astro Bernama TV (Astro 502) and Astro Awani (Astro 501) at 9pm [15/7/08].
… more to come….
[13/7]
The cops are out creating traffic jams yet again – I just got back to KL from PJ through the Federal Highway – traffic backed-up for miles due to the roadblock at Kota Darul Ehsan.

According to Malaysiakini:
Police have put up road blocks in the capital as they brace for protests ahead of a possible debate of no confidence in Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi tomorrow.
…
Police said several roads leading to the parliament building would be sealed off tomorrow and urged people not to protest, although the Keadilan opposition party denied Sunday it had called for any demonstrations.
…
… opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim was today banned from going anywhere close to parliament.Anwar has earlier expressed the intention to go to Parliament to hear the no-confidence debate.
“Police came to Anwar’s home today and presented the court order restricting him from going near parliament on Monday. If Anwar breaches the order, he could be arrested and charged in court.”
The court order will allow the police to arrest on sight if Anwar and opposition supporters are spotted within five kilometres of Parliament.
gasp, gulp and gurgle!

Breaking news from Malaysiakini:
[Excerpts]
The opposition Pakatan Rakyat coalition moved an urgent motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
…
Should the motion be accepted, it is likely to be debated on Monday when Parliament resumes after the weekend break. The House does not sit on Friday. However, the motion may not see the light of day as the House speaker has the power to reject it on the ground that it is not urgent.
Moveover, only a one-hour debate will be set aside for such motions and no vote would be taken.
No vote? Then what for la? Saja make noise for one hour only?
The opposition may have the option to file a motion under Standing Order 27, which requires notice of 14 days to be given.
Aha … first go for one hour of noise-making, then file under S.27, then make more noise for 14 days, then make the most noise on the 28th - Badawi would wake up with a jolt and run away screaming hysterically.
Last month, BN component Sabah Progressive Party (Sapp) stunned the nation when it said it would back a no-confidence vote against Abdullah.
However, it has decided to hold back on its plan.
Hopefully until Monday?
Apparently so…. [breaking news - Malaysiakini (11Jul)
Sabah Progressive Party (Sapp) parliamentarians Eric Enchin Majimbun and Chua Soon Bui have pledged their vote for an opposition motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Asked for his response, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz [who's also in charge of Parliamentary Affairs] brushed off the plan and described it as “rubbish.”
“There’s nothing in the Standing Orders to provide for such a thing,” he said when approached.
What about Standing Order 27, then? [See above]
Deputy Barisan Nasional Backbenchers’ chairperson Bung Mokhtar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) said …
YOU AGAIN??? For not shutting the far cup after the lying disgrace you’ve been this week, we shall all now show you your trademark gesture.
Ok … one … two … THREE!
…
“The people already gave the mandate to BN. Why does the opposition want to table a motion of no-confidence against the government? What is the agenda? They want to topple the government?”
Duhh … I … I … I think so, but …. er … muust be lah …
Why not click here, and vote?
Meanwhile SINGAPORE cuts fuel prices [NST] – OF COURSE THEY WILL – “We simply must go one up on you again, stupid Malaysians! Nyeah, nyeah, nyeah, nyeah, nyeah…”
And Oz PM Rudd calls Malaysia a “thriving democracy” [compared to Myanmar, right?]
[Excerpts from the Star]
He said the recent general election was a “great testament to the political wisdom of the people of this country.
“I would like to congratulate you (Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi) and the people of Malaysia for the way in which you handled the democratic transformation in this country,” he said at a joint press conference with Abdullah.
Aha … it’s a diplomatic indirect free kick … a nice way of saying, “Yer peyple rilly kicked yer brenarses, din’t thay maite?”

Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan has alleged that he had been sodomized by Anwar Ibrahim.
Where is the truth?
Mohd Saiful could have pushed away Anwar easily and prevented himself from being raped.
Is his accusation believable?
To allow Anwar to have an affair with him, is he (Mohd Saiful) a male prostitute or a decent youngster? Who is he? Was he set up by someone?
Now, Mohd Saiful wants Anwar to swear in the Islamic way: “That he had not sodomized Mohd Saiful”.
To expose the truth I belief that: “First of all Mohd Saiful must swear in the Islamic way that he was the victim of aggressive sodomy by Anwar and had not concocted the accusation in whatever manner”.
Further, the result of the medical examination must be studied and vetted by many independent Medical Experts who have good knowledge of cases of sodomy. Mohd Saiful could have had an affair with anyone, X, Y and Z and put the blame on poor Anwar.
Our Leaders must take this matter seriously to expose the truth. We must not allow other Nations to think of us badly in the face of this type of accusations. “A Nation of Arsehole Fuckers”, though this is allowed in the Western Countries “
This BN Government is making me sick and Im vomiting from their hypocrisies. No integrity, dignity and backbone. Slaves to power and money in disguise of serving the people they are serving their caprice, vain desire, self and their lord of power, greed and lust…the devil himself. But hey lets not jump the queue and blame the devil as their biggest enemy is their own self. Instead of controlling their self (in Malay Nafsu), they are controlled by their ‘Nafsu’. They have lost their soul…sold their soul for the temporal pleasure of this world, and they will throw all their principles and self respect for it.
Hamid AlBar crippled the whole city just because of 1 sms!? Im dumbfounded. Its either he is plain stupid or playing stupid.
Yes the people are fed up…fed up with the stupidity of the unwanted BN stooges in government. We are tired of the roadblocks and disturbance by the police under the direction of the BN mortals playing God in the corridors of power.
Protecting the city from massive traffic jams because of rally?? well putting up roadblocks does not help the situation whether there is a rally or not….so how does that sum up….duh??
If a protest rally gathers at KLCC or Dataran Merdeka, what is the different from events by the government at Dataran Merdeka and KLCC or even the whole Jalan Bukit Bintang was closed off for the last World Cup Final between France and Italy, I dont like football and why should must my access to that Jalan be blocked?? Why doesnt the same standard apply?
Sad state this country is in. We have tyrants and oppressors ruling this poor country. And these oppressors even carry beautiful names such as Abdullah(the Servant of Allah) and Hamid(The Praised One, on top of that Syed, an attribute for those who are from the descendant of the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessing be upon him. I read the biography of this great prophet and how just and fair he was to his follower and enemies. For Hamid to still use the Syed in front of his name is an insult to the it. After reading the biography of Tan Sri Syed Jaafar Albar, it is evident that they are 2 different person. How I wish we have leaders like Tan Sri.
